Training and NR Camp

OK, back at home for a flying stop to simply get a proper night's sleep. Last week I had New Staff Training down in a lovely house on the beach in Raumati, just near Wellington. It was great to see everyone again, to catch up after our initial orientation, to share about the stuff that has been hard and the excitements we've seen. Highlights for me were Nigel talking on evangelism from 1Thes, Andy sharing his support presentation using examples of students I know and of course the pub quiz where, although not winning the girls saw off the boys! Lots of stuff to think over from that but I was straight on to....

Northern Regional Camp
This was the first student camp for the whole of Auckland (and Hamilton, technically), encompassing all the CFs from the region. It was down in Ngaruawahia (not nearly as cold as last time, although I was a bit more prepared with my thermals!) this weekend. What an amazing time it was. The staff were in the kitchen most of the time, an amazing job done by all but special mention to Jane who worked outstandingly to plan and create a weekend of food for 100 - job well done! The teaching was from Paul Windsor, principal of Carey Baptist College and was about making the connection from Jesus to students. It seemed to get people thinking and I had some brilliant conversations with the students who are really engaging with this stuff. So exciting...
Anyway there is much more to say but I have to run off to Napier to see Claire!
