Transforming Lives

Bit of a blog drought over the last month or so - not because there's nothing to report. On the contrary there is so much to encourage that it can be overwhelming at times!
That is us now half way through second semester - both universities I'm working with get a couple of weeks off before working through to the summer.
This first half of the semester has been really amazing to see the fruit that the time and ministry and prayer of the groups has been bearing. Seeing individuals coming to groups and interested in Jesus simply through the witness of the people who love Him on campus has been fantastic - what an encouragement. We really are seeing lives being transformed by the gospel!

Staff Training
I got back at the beginning of the week from a few days, down near Wellington, of staff training. It was great to have all the staff together again, to hear what has been happening on campuses across NZ and to pray and learn together - still sadly missing Andy. We had sessions on what it looks like to train students; what it is to be a Kiwi Asian; what strategic priorities we will have for the coming year; exciting updates on new initiatives, like Catalyst, the new graduate ministry; planning for Student Leadership Conference in November; Bible study in Acts each morning and of course a trip out to play Laser Strike. My years of retirement from Laser gaming has apparently been good for my game... I did significantly better than I was used to when I was 13! Maybe it was the competition....

The other thing that was launched for us at staff training was the new TSCF website!! What a great new resource, well worth checking out. It is great because we are able to update very easily all the news and events stuff so keep checking that for latest TSCF news etc. Brilliant!

After training I was able to have a couple of days with Catriona, home in NZ for part of her summer holidays, and her mum, Viv.
We started in Palmy and then had a couple of nights over in Napier. Was the first time properly in the Hawkes Bay and we had such lovely weather - no rain at all! A really lovely holiday of coffees and chat and relaxing.

Was good to get back to Auckland on Monday - felt like I'd been away for a while! It is nice to feel like I'm coming back home when I arrive in Auckland.

Over the past month or so I have been putting together a video of some of the stuff I get up to with the students here in Auckland. Technology is not my strong point but hopefully it is a wee insight to what God is doing here on campus - so exciting!

On Monday I'm off on retreat with AUTCF, up north. Pray for good weather and God's Word to work in people's lives...
