It has been a bloomin long time since I updated any news on this thing! Sorry for any who are actually still even bothering to read this. Unlikely that there is anyone though!!
Well Christmas has been and gone for another year... my first Southern Hemisphere one and it really is quite strange to be singing carols in shorts and t-shirt! Has been great to have a bit of time off - spent some time down in Wellington before Christmas, such generous hospitality down there and some good time spent doing not very much with friends. Then went on down to Christchurch for Christmas with the Bridges. So good of them to have me!
Good to be back up in Auckland now - came home to have Christmas again on Boxing Day and it really did feel like returning home to family. Praise God!
One of the things that has really hit me this festive season is chatting to a few of the folks around and the fact that Christmas is not something they standardly celebrate with their families/friends. It was amazing to have the opportunity to share with three different people on boxing day about Jesus - the amazing truth that he came to earth- fully God, fully man- to bring us back into relationship with God. The girl I was giving a lift home spent most of the journey after our get-together exclaiming about the way she felt welcomed like family. That she can see that we are family because of Jesus. Praise God!
Would appreciate prayer, if you're that way inclined, for my visa situation again. Is all looking a bit bleak on that front and is a little unsettling. Will hopefully chat to someone form immigration this week at some point!
So 2009 is beckoning...can't wait to see how God will be at work over this next year...
